Our Story

Rebuilding Together began in Midland, Texas in 1973 as 'Christmas in April'. Since then, it has evolved into a nationwide program with over 160 affiliates, including Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines, which has been active since 1995. This organization focuses on rehabilitating homes for low-income families, veterans, older adults, and individuals with disabilities.

With a commitment to revitalizing communities, Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines has transformed over 4,000 homes and nonprofit facilities, providing essential repairs that enhance safety and livability.
