Our Story

Reading Ready Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering the healthy development of young children by enhancing access to books and promoting family engagement through reading. By collaborating with local childcare centers and community organizations, barriers to accessing high-quality, age-appropriate books are removed.

Impact

With over 1,300 children enrolled in the Raising a Reader program, Reading Ready Pittsburgh has redistributed more than 60,000 books, gifted over 15,000 brand new books, and established 14 free libraries. This initiative has positively impacted over 7,000 children in the Mon Valley and City of Pittsburgh, providing them with a new book each month.
