Our Story
Founded in November 2003 by local textile artist Alice Brinkman, REACH Studio Art Center began as a small storefront in REO Town, Lansing. With a vision to create a community space for accessible out-of-school art-making experiences, REACH has grown significantly since receiving its 501(c)(3) status in February 2004. Over the years, it has served thousands of community members, providing free and affordable arts programs for both children and adults. In 2013, the REACH board approved the purchase of five adjacent storefronts, leading to a transformative redevelopment project that expanded the original 400-square-foot studio into a 10,000-square-foot facility, complete with seven studios, a gallery, and a welcoming courtyard.
