Our Story

Founded in September 2015, REACH Advocacy emerged from the urgent need to support individuals facing eviction in Rochester, NY. Initially starting as a low-barrier emergency winter shelter, the organization has expanded its services to include a continuum of sheltering options, permanent housing, and advocacy for those experiencing chronic homelessness.

Impact

In its first winter, REACH Advocacy successfully housed over 150 individuals and continues to transition many guests into permanent housing each year. The organization has adapted its services to meet community needs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing private rooms and hotel-based housing for at-risk individuals.
