Founded in 1914 by Ray and Ethel Bird, Ray Bird Ministries began with a mission to serve the homeless and needy in South Bend. The first Sunday School service welcomed 24 children, and the ministry has since evolved to meet the needs of generations. Today, Camp Ray Bird continues this legacy, providing at-risk children and teens with meaningful camping experiences that instill values and create lasting memories.
Ray Bird Ministries specializes in serving families who face economic hardships, with over 90% of campers receiving state or federal assistance. The camp offers a safe haven for children to learn, grow, and thrive.
