Our Story
Founded in 1974 by Ronald E. Clark, Sheila P. Kearney, and M. S. Pendleton, the Rape Recovery Center began as a community awareness initiative addressing the urgent needs surrounding sexual violence. Established as the Salt Lake Rape Crisis Center in 1975, it has since evolved to provide comprehensive support and education for survivors and the community.
Impact
Each year, the Rape Recovery Center serves nearly 800 survivors through its Mobile Response Team and assists approximately 1,500 callers via its 24-hour crisis line. With personal advocacy, counseling, and support groups, the center impacts over 3,000 clients annually, while outreach programs educate around 40,000 community members.
