Our Story
Founded in 1972, Rainbow Fleet emerged from the vision of Dr. Peggy Loeffler, a dedicated Montessori teacher who believed in the power of quality early childhood education. By providing child care professionals with essential resources and materials, Rainbow Fleet has transformed the landscape of early childhood learning in Oklahoma. The initiative began with a mobile education unit filled with learning materials, toys, and books, staffed by trained early childhood professionals. This innovative approach allowed Rainbow Fleet to reach countless children, families, and caregivers directly in their communities.
Over the years, Rainbow Fleet has adapted its programs to meet the evolving needs of the community, expanding from a mobile toy lending library to a comprehensive Child Care Resource Center. Today, the organization offers a variety of services, including Child Care Resource and Referral, Child Care Training and Technical Assistance, the Quality Enhancement Initiative, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program. These initiatives reflect Rainbow Fleet's unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of early childhood education.
