Our Story
In 1999, the South Berkshire community faced a crisis as drug and alcohol-related deaths claimed the lives of its young people. Amanda Root, a determined 19-year-old, sparked a movement by asking the adults of the Heroin Task Force, 'What do the young people want?' This pivotal question led to the creation of the Railroad Street Youth Project (RSYP), a vibrant nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth to bring their ideas to life.
Impact
RSYP empowers young people by supporting youth-inspired projects that foster responsibility, self-worth, and intergenerational communication. The organization excels in helping youth find their voice and realize the benefits of their commitment to themselves and their community.
Why Donate?
Nearly 100% community-supported, RSYP relies on donations to provide essential services and programs for young people, including mentoring, apprenticeships, and advocacy.
