Founded in 1998, Ragtag Film Society began as a volunteer effort to screen independent films at Columbia's The Blue Note. By 2004, it evolved into a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering community engagement through film. The organization has since expanded its reach with the True/False Film Festival, which has become a cornerstone of the local arts scene.
