Q’eqchi' Partners

Our Story

The Q’eqchi' Partners, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Maya Q’eqchi' people in Guatemala. Established in response to the extreme hardships faced by these communities, particularly after natural disasters and human rights violations, the organization works through a local partner, Partners for Development, to implement sustainable solutions that empower individuals and preserve their rich cultural heritage.

Impact

Since 2012, over 5,000 biosand water filters have been installed in homes, significantly enhancing access to clean drinking water and reducing waterborne illnesses. Additionally, training rural women as community health workers has provided essential health services in areas with limited medical access, directly addressing chronic malnutrition and health inequalities.
