Our Story
In 1994, the Putnam County Youth Development Commission (PCYDC) was established under the guidance of Judge Diana LaViolette to address the pressing needs of youth in the community. With over forty dedicated volunteers, the organization began to develop comprehensive programs aimed at supporting vulnerable children and redirecting them away from the juvenile justice system. Officially recognized as a 501c3 in 1996, PCYDC has since expanded its services, including impactful initiatives like CASA and Putnam County Teen Court.
