The Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society was founded in 1948 by maritime enthusiasts and became a non-profit organization in 1952. With a rich history of preserving maritime heritage, PSMHS has partnered with the Museum of History and Industry since 1953. In 2014, the organization expanded its mission by acquiring the Youth Maritime Training Association, enhancing outreach and engagement with students.
PSMHS has preserved over 80,000 archival maritime photos and expanded educational programs, significantly impacting the maritime community in the Pacific Northwest.
