About the Public Interest Law Project

The Public Interest Law Project (PILP) was established in 1996 to provide essential litigation and advocacy support to local legal services organizations. In response to legislative restrictions, PILP focuses on advancing racial and economic justice for low-income communities and communities of color in California. With a dedicated team of seasoned impact litigators and advocates, PILP has successfully litigated over 200 high-impact cases, training thousands of advocates along the way.

Impact of PILP

PILP has achieved significant victories in affordable housing, civil rights, and public benefits access. Their impact litigation has set crucial legal standards in both federal and state courts, shaping housing law and civil rights protections.

Why Donate to PILP?

Your contributions to PILP support the mission of ensuring that all Californians have access to housing, income, supportive services, food security, and health care. Donations help halt evictions, create pathways for affordable housing, and defend the rights of vulnerable communities.
