West County Mandarin School (WCMS) is a pioneering Mandarin immersion, International Baccalaureate (IB) school located in Pinole, California. As the first public school in California to achieve IB authorization, WCMS opened its doors on August 21, 2017, with three kindergarten classes. The school is set to expand to 8th grade, adding a new grade each year, thanks to the collaboration of parents, community members, and the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
