Our Story
Proyecto Faro was founded by Charo Ureña in response to the growing needs of immigrant communities in Rockland County, particularly during the challenging times of the Trump Administration. Collaborating with Rick Ufford-Chase and the Community of Living Traditions at Stony Point Center, the organization identified a critical gap in immigrant-led community organizing. With a vision to empower and support vulnerable populations, Proyecto Faro has established strong partnerships with various religious and secular organizations, mobilizing volunteers to create impactful programs.
