About Providence Public Library
Since 1875, Providence Public Library has been a cornerstone of education and community engagement in Rhode Island. This private, non-profit organization is dedicated to inspiring Rhode Islanders to be lifelong learners by providing access to extraordinary experiences, resources, and ideas.
Impact on the Community
With over 900 teens served through its Teen Squad programs, PPL has empowered more than 450 teens to earn academic credit or digital badges, and over 300 teens have created web portfolios for college or work applications. These initiatives address education and career gaps among Providence youth.
