EIN: 72-1205164 · Shreveport, LA
Our Story
Providence House began in 1988 when two compassionate members of First Presbyterian Church recognized the urgent need for shelter services for homeless families with children. Originally named Evergreen House and operated by the Salvation Army, it transitioned to a long-term solution in 1992, evolving into Providence House. This organization is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing comprehensive support services that empower families to achieve self-sufficiency.
Impact
Since its inception, Providence House has made a significant impact, serving 412 individuals and housing 161 families in 2022 alone. With nearly 13,000 nights of lodging and almost 20,000 meals provided, the organization continues to change lives.
