Our Story
In early 2005, Howard and Melissa Davis faced a pivotal decision regarding their daughters’ education. Concerned about the spiritual well-being of children attending public schools, they recognized a troubling trend: churched kids losing their faith. After exploring various educational options, they found that private schools often lacked the combination of discipleship and rigorous academics they desired. This realization sparked the idea of establishing a school dedicated to nurturing students in their faith while providing an exceptional education.
In February 2005, an interest meeting was held, attracting 30 families. The enthusiasm led to the formation of a board, and by August 2005, Shreveport Classical Christian School opened its doors with 17 students. The school later transitioned to Providence Classical Academy, and by 2010, enrollment had surged to 100 students, prompting the purchase of property and the construction of a dedicated facility. Today, nearly 500 students are enrolled, and plans for a new High School building are underway.
