Our Story

The Protect Our Communities Foundation was founded in 2005 by local San Diegans Denis Trafecanty and Michael Pinto to combat the proposed Sunrise Powerlink transmission line project by SDG&E. Despite the project's approval, PCF's advocacy led to an improved route that minimized environmental impact. For nearly two decades, this organization has worked tirelessly to protect Southern Californians and the environment, advocating for clean energy and intervening in statewide energy issues.

Our Impact

PCF has successfully advocated for clean, local, equitable energy solutions while fighting against polluting power sources and infrastructure. The foundation represents the interests of Southern California residential ratepayers before the California Public Utilities Commission and other agencies.
