Our Story

Promise House was established in 1984 after a community needs survey revealed a critical lack of support for homeless and runaway youth in North Texas. Originally founded by the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, the organization began with a 16-bed emergency shelter located just 15 minutes from downtown Dallas. Over the years, Promise House has evolved into an independent 501(c)(3) organization, expanding its services to include crisis intervention, transitional housing, and specialized support for pregnant and parenting teens.

Impact

In the past year, Promise House has served over 2,050 clients, providing a safe and nurturing environment for homeless youth. The organization is dedicated to preventing chronic homelessness by equipping young people with the tools they need for long-term stability.
