Transforming Lives Through Compassion
Founded in 2008 by Marji McIntyre, Project Second Chance Monroe pairs troubled youth with abandoned dogs, creating a unique opportunity for both to find a second chance in life. In a nurturing environment, these at-risk youth care for, groom, and train shelter dogs over a three-week period. Each participant engages in therapeutic discussions that promote responsibility, compassion, and hope, culminating in a graduation ceremony where they receive certificates and community service hours.
Making a Lasting Impact
Project Second Chance Monroe not only provides essential care and training for abandoned dogs but also instills empathy and responsibility in youth. This hands-on experience fosters personal growth and prepares participants for future careers in the pet industry.
