Our Story
In 1977, Fayette County faced a dire lack of medical care until Carroll Dozier and the Bishop of Memphis invited the Franciscan Sisters of Rochester, MN to establish the Rossville Health Clinic. Sister Elaine Wicks, sent by the Sisters, dedicated her life to serving the community, providing essential health services, education, and support to those in need. Despite the county's growth, many residents still struggle with poverty, and Project Outreach continues Sister Elaine's mission to uplift the lives of the underserved.
After Sister Elaine's passing in 1998, the volunteers of Project Outreach have carried on her vision, focusing on improving nutrition, living conditions, and access to clothing and school supplies for families in Fayette County. This non-denominational organization, rooted in a Franciscan spirit, is committed to serving the poor, sick, aged, and marginalized, ensuring that every donation directly benefits those who need it most.
