About Project Information Literacy

Project Information Literacy (PIL) is a nonprofit research institute dedicated to understanding how students and adults find, evaluate, and create information. Since 2008, PIL has conducted extensive research involving nearly 23,000 U.S. college students, producing 14 large-scale, open access reports. The focus has expanded to include how individuals engage with news and information about climate change.

Impact of PIL's Research

PIL's research has significantly influenced educational practices and information literacy initiatives, particularly in higher education and climate change engagement.
