Our Story

Project Host began in 1981 as a response to hunger in Greenville, SC. Originally a soup kitchen, it has transformed into a multifaceted nonprofit dedicated to providing meals, culinary training, and employment opportunities. The name 'Project Host' embodies the mission to welcome individuals from all walks of life and adapt programs to meet community needs.

Impact

Serving an average of 40,000 free meals annually, Project Host addresses immediate hunger and the root causes of food insecurity, such as poverty and unemployment. With over 200 graduates from its culinary training program and 2,000 pounds of produce grown through Gardening for Good, the organization is making a significant difference.
