Our Story

In October 2005, a journey to Uganda transformed into a mission of hope. While volunteering as a photographer for relief organizations, a visit to the Acholi Quarter revealed the resilience of women displaced by civil war. Meeting three women, each with harrowing stories of survival, ignited a passion to help. Despite their struggles, they embodied grace and a spirit of endurance that inspired action.

Upon returning to Boston, the vibrant, handmade beads crafted from recycled paper caught attention. This led to the formation of a group of 55 women, united under the name "bed ki gen" or "the group that has hope." Today, Project Have Hope has grown to support 100 women and their families, impacting nearly 1500 lives in the Acholi Quarter.
