Our Story

Canyon Del Oro Project Graduation was established in 2004 by former Oro Valley councilwoman Mary Snider. This nonprofit organization was inspired by a tragic event in Maine over 50 years ago, leading to the creation of Project Graduation to ensure a safe, alcohol and drug-free celebration for graduating seniors of Canyon Del Oro High School. The initiative relies on community support, volunteerism, and fundraising, as it does not receive funding from school or district budgets.

Impact

Since its inception, Project Graduation has successfully provided a safe celebration for graduating seniors, significantly reducing the risks associated with alcohol and drug use on graduation night. This initiative has been adopted by high schools across the USA, promoting community safety and responsible celebrations.
