Project Dignity of WNC
EIN: 81-5123670 · Hendersonville, NC
Our Story
In 2016, Barbara Morgan learned that personal care items, including feminine hygiene products, are not covered by food stamps. This revelation came through a family member in crisis, highlighting a critical gap in support for low-income and homeless women. To address this issue, Barbara gathered friends and founded Project Dignity of Western North Carolina. The organization aims to preserve the dignity and self-worth of women and girls by ensuring they have access to essential menstrual products.
Our Impact
Project Dignity of WNC serves over 560 women each month, distributing more than 5,000 tampons and 3,000 pads. By partnering with 15 agencies and 30 schools in Henderson and Buncombe counties, the organization helps reduce absenteeism among women and girls during their menstrual cycles.
Why Donate?
Many women and girls miss work and school due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Donations to Project Dignity help combat this critical health issue, ensuring that every woman can maintain her dignity and participate fully in society.
