Our Story

Pro Bono Network began in 2011 with a simple yet powerful idea: to connect experienced attorneys with those in need of legal assistance. Founded in Donna Peel’s kitchen, this initiative emerged from a group of attorneys seeking to leverage their skills to provide free legal services to low-income individuals. With over 85% of civil legal needs going unmet, PBN was established to bridge the gap between the legal aid community and volunteer attorneys eager to help.

Our Impact

Over the past 12 years, Pro Bono Network has partnered with more than 20 community organizations and legal aid agencies, recruiting over 450 volunteer attorneys and 30 translators. Together, they have contributed an astounding 29,000 volunteer hours, translating to over $7.25 million in free legal services for 5,000 clients.
