Our Story

On March 29th, 2019, four students at Boca Raton Community High School came together with a shared vision: to create a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth. Frustrated by the lack of support from existing leadership, they founded PRISM FL, Inc. to expand their impact beyond the school walls. In response to the introduction of the "Don’t Say LGBTQ" bill in January 2022, PRISM mobilized to advocate for the rights of LGBTQ+ youth, making several trips to the Capitol in Tallahassee. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, PRISM remained steadfast in its mission, advocating for comprehensive sex education and expanding its reach across South Florida.
