Our Story

In the early 1980s, a dedicated group of providers began advocating for individuals with disabilities in Prince George’s County. This grassroots effort evolved into the Prince George’s Provider Council, a nonprofit organization established in 2021. The Council focuses on expanding services, advocating for community opportunities, and educating the public about the needs of people with developmental disabilities.

Impact

The Prince George’s Provider Council has made significant strides in advocating for increased funding and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through initiatives like the Annual Employment Awards and Transitioning Youth Resource Fairs, the Council raises awareness and provides essential resources for families navigating the transition to adulthood.
