Our Story

Prevent Suicide Pennsylvania has been a beacon of hope since the 1980s, emerging from various dedicated programs to combat the rising rates of suicide. In 2005, a collaborative work group was formed to create a comprehensive state suicide prevention plan, which has since evolved into a unified effort to reduce suicide rates and support affected families. With separate committees for adult and youth suicide prevention merging in 2017, the organization has strengthened its mission to save lives.
