Our Story

Established in 1969, Preston Volunteer Emergency Services, Inc. (PVES) was formed by dedicated community members in Pottsboro, Texas, to tackle the long response times for fire and emergency services in the Preston Peninsula area. Initially funded through community donations and fundraising, PVES has grown to include a paid EMS corps while still relying on a committed volunteer firefighter corps. Serving a fluctuating population of 10,000 to 150,000 residents and visitors, PVES covers a 96 square mile area, ensuring safety and rapid response.

Impact

PVES plays a crucial role in providing fire protection and emergency medical services to a diverse community. With a trained team of volunteers and paid staff, the organization has achieved an ISO-5 rating, which significantly lowers insurance rates for local residents and businesses.
