Our Story

Pahali Community Land Trust, a dedicated community land trust in East Palo Alto, has been serving local residents for over 12 years. With a mission of "placekeeping for the local placekeepers," Pahali transitioned from a volunteer-run organization to a robust entity through an administrative merger with the East Palo Alto Community Alliance & Neighborhood Development Organization (EPACANDO) in 2020. This partnership has significantly enhanced Pahali's capacity to empower community members, ensuring they have greater control over their housing situations.

Our Impact

Pahali Community Land Trust is committed to preserving homes for long-term residents and community leaders, preventing displacement in East Palo Alto. This unique form of housing represents 1% of the community's total housing supply, the largest proportion in the greater Bay Area. The goal is to double this figure, ensuring that more families can thrive in their neighborhoods.
