Founded in 1972 by Ida Friday and Georgia Kyser, Preservation Chapel Hill emerged from a community's desire to protect its historic buildings. Collaborating with preservation pioneer Robert Stipe, the organization quickly made its mark by restoring the Mickle-Mangum-Smith House. Today, Preservation Chapel Hill continues to advocate for the preservation of the town's rich architectural heritage and cultural landscapes.
