PrEP4All

Our Story

Founded in March 2018, PrEP4All is a coalition of community members, healthcare professionals, lawyers, and academics dedicated to increasing access to lifesaving HIV medication. Each member has been personally affected by the HIV epidemic, experiencing firsthand the challenges of navigating insurance, healthcare providers, and the financial burdens associated with HIV medications. Inspired by the activism of ACT UP in the 1980s, PrEP4All employs direct action, media outreach, and political advocacy to lower the price of PrEP and ensure universal access to HIV prevention and treatment.

Impact

After nearly two years of advocacy, PrEP4All successfully influenced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to release a $7 million funding opportunity for a pilot National PrEP Program. This groundbreaking initiative allows funds to be allocated toward affordable generic PrEP medications, marking a significant step toward uncomplicated access to comprehensive PrEP services.
