Our Story
Letters to a Pre-Scientist was founded by Macon Lowman, a dedicated 6th grade science teacher in rural eastern North Carolina. Recognizing the lack of resources available to her students, she partnered with scientist Anna Goldstein to create a network of pen pal volunteers. This initiative connects students with real-world STEM professionals, enhancing their writing skills and cultural awareness.
