About Prairie Fire Theatre
Founded in 1998 by local artist Robert Mangialardi, Prairie Fire Theatre began with a mission to deliver high-quality music theater and light opera to adult audiences. In 2003, the organization expanded its reach to elementary school-aged children, bringing children's opera directly to local schools. Over the years, Prairie Fire Theatre has grown to serve middle and high school students, commissioning and premiering several original works.
Impact
Since its inception, Prairie Fire Theatre has performed for approximately 9,000 children and adults at schools, libraries, and non-traditional venues, significantly enhancing access to the arts in the Bloomington-Normal community.
