Our Story

In the early 1970s, the historic 1879 Avery House faced demolition. Thanks to passionate local citizens, the City of Fort Collins acquired the property, leading to the formation of the Poudre Landmarks Foundation. This dedicated organization has since restored the Avery House to its former glory, transforming it into a vibrant historic house museum. In 1995, the Foundation expanded its mission by managing the restoration of the 1883 Water Works facility, further enriching the community's historical landscape.
