In 1974, a dedicated group of college graduates felt a divine calling to serve the Roosevelt Park community in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This commitment led to the establishment of a weekly program known as Kid Power, which catered to the needs of local children. By 1981, the vision expanded into a full-fledged school, starting with just 12 students in the basement of Grandville Avenue CRC. Despite initial challenges, including a limited timeframe to find a permanent location, faith and community support enabled the purchase of the former Southwest Christian School building.

Over the years, The Potter’s House has grown exponentially, now serving over 620 students from diverse backgrounds, representing more than 30 countries. The school has expanded its offerings to include middle and high school programs, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive, Christ-centered education that addresses their academic, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Each year, approximately 600 students benefit from affordable education, exceptional teachers, and a vibrant community.
