Our Story

Established in 1990, Positive Images is a dedicated LGBTQIA+ Community Center in Sonoma County, providing essential support to marginalized groups, including transgender and nonbinary individuals, LGBTQIA+ people of color, and disabled individuals. Founded by Beverlee Laird and Jim Foster during the AIDS epidemic, the organization has evolved to offer vital services such as mental health support, advocacy, and education.

Impact

Positive Images serves approximately 47,000 LGBTQIA+ individuals, creating a safe and welcoming space for community support, healing, and joy. The organization has expanded its services to include adult support groups and bilingual programming for QTBIPOC individuals, promoting intersectional and accessible support.
