Our Story

The legacy of Positive Alternative Radio (PAR) began with the vision of Dr. Vernon H. Baker and his wife, Virginia, who founded the first radio station in Christiansburg, Virginia, in 1957. Established in 1985, PAR aims to create non-commercial educational radio stations that give back to the communities that support them. Today, PAR operates listener-supported Christian radio stations across Virginia, Eastern Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kentucky, inspiring individuals to live passionately for Jesus Christ.
