The Ed. Foundation

Our Story

In 2002, community advocate Amy Bass gathered a dedicated group of volunteers to establish the Port Washington Education Foundation, aiming to transform the educational experience for students in Port Washington. The Foundation awarded its first grants in the spring of 2003, totaling $20,329 to fund 18 innovative projects, including an oral history study at Schreiber and math literacy workshops at local elementary schools. Since then, the Foundation has awarded hundreds of grants, surpassing $2.5 million, impacting every school and grade level in the district.

Since its inception, The Ed. Foundation has been committed to enhancing educational opportunities for all students in the Port Washington Public Schools.
