Our Story

Founded in 1995 by Artistic Director Jill Moore and a group of University of Arizona graduates, Porchlight Music Theatre has become a cornerstone of Chicago's vibrant arts scene. The organization is dedicated to creating and sustaining an artistic home for audiences and emerging artists, focusing on innovative music theatre productions.

With 178 Jeff Award nominations and 45 Jeff Awards, Porchlight Music Theatre exemplifies excellence in the arts. The organization opens doors for underserved populations, welcoming 400-500 guests each season, many experiencing live theatre for the first time.
