Our Story

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a 400-acre refuge located in Poolesville, Maryland, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of neglected, abused, or abandoned farm animals and wildlife. Founded in 1996, the sanctuary promotes compassion and humane treatment through public education.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and the commitment of over 100 volunteers and 7 staff members, Poplar Spring has successfully maintained its sanctuary, providing a safe haven for over 200 animals.
