Our Story

On a beautiful fall evening of October 29th, 2021, community members from Mountain House, primarily Bengalis from India, founded Poorba of Mountain House. This organization aims to establish a cultural and social base for the Bengali community in the United States. With a vision to thrive as a nonprofit, Poorba stands as the foremost organization for all Bengalis in San Joaquin County, dedicated to promoting the rich and vibrant culture of Bengal and North East India while collaborating with local communities to serve and give back to people from all ethnic backgrounds.

Our Impact

Poorba actively organizes literary programs rich in art, music, drama, and dance. The organization supports sports-related activities to promote physical health and mental well-being, and is involved in philanthropic and fundraising events that positively influence the lives of everyone around us.
