Our Story
In 2005, a dedicated group of lay missionaries from the Diocese of Joliet traveled to Borongan, Eastern Samar, Philippines. There, they met Sr. Minerva and the Oikos Sisters, leading to the establishment of the Poor Household of God in 2008. This 501(c)(3) organization is committed to supporting the Oikos Sisters in their charitable works for the impoverished.

The Poor Household of God plays a vital role in providing food, shelter, education, and medical assistance to the poor in the Philippines, enabling them to improve their lives and communities.
