About the Police Unity Tour
Founded in May 1997 by Officer Patrick P. Montuore, the Police Unity Tour began as a four-day bicycle ride from Florham Park, New Jersey, to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. This initiative was created to raise public awareness of police officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. What started with just 18 riders has now expanded to nearly 2500 members across nine chapters nationwide, welcoming participants from all states and countries.
Impact of the Police Unity Tour
To date, the Police Unity Tour has raised over $2 million for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, contributing to a total of almost $38 million in donations. The organization has also fulfilled a $5 million commitment to the Museum and is dedicated to restoring the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
