Our Story
The Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAARI) was established to support the Gloucester Police’s innovative addiction initiatives and to assist law enforcement agencies across the country in implementing effective deflection and diversion programs. By reframing addiction as a disease rather than a crime, PAARI promotes non-arrest pathways to treatment and recovery.
Impact
With a national network of over 700 police departments in 46 states, PAARI's programs significantly reduce overdose deaths and expand access to treatment, intervening before individuals enter the criminal justice system.
