Our Story

Plenty! began in 2008 when founder Karen Day discovered that fresh beet greens from a local farm could not be utilized by the local food pantry. This realization sparked a mission to connect surplus food with those in need, leading to the creation of Portable Produce and the Plenty! Fresh Pantry. Initially an all-volunteer organization, Plenty! gained non-profit status in 2015 and now operates a farm on 17 acres along the Little River, employing organic practices to ensure the health of the land and provide nutritious food year-round.

Our Impact

Plenty! is dedicated to eliminating food insecurity in Floyd County, focusing on food quality, access, and distribution. With the support of over 50 volunteers each week, the organization serves 1,450 individuals, including 370 children, who struggle to access adequate food.
