Our Story

Founded in 1872, the Pleasant Ridge Montessori School has a rich history of educational excellence and community involvement. Originally established as a four-room school, it has evolved over the years to meet the needs of its diverse student body. The latest state-of-the-art facility, certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), was completed in 2008, showcasing a commitment to environmental sustainability.

In 2006, the school adopted the Montessori education system, fostering a peaceful and inclusive learning environment. With the recent expansion project initiated in the summer of 2023, PRM is set to enhance its facilities, providing additional classrooms, office space, and cafeteria seating to accommodate the growing community. This expansion is expected to open in Fall 2024, ensuring that PRM continues to thrive as a neighborhood school.
